Reggie Bush vs. Kris Humphries

REGGIE BUSH

We watched them exchange iChat sweet nothings on “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” were confused as to why sports commentators interviewed her on the panel after Reggie and the Saints won Super Bowl XLIV, and felt a piece of our reality tv heart die when they called it quits.

But before Reggie’s stint as a Kardashian, he was carving out a legacy of his own as star running back for University of Southern California (USC) from 2003-2005. In addition to ESPN naming him one of the greatest college football players ever, Bush was awarded the Heisman Trophy in 2005 (which he later forfeited after the NCAA found he’d violated rules deeming him ineligible).

In his first five NFL seasons, he played with the New Orleans Saints where he won a Super Bowl in February 2010. But in 2011, it was “Bienvenidos a Miami” for the Bushter after getting traded to Miami. And with Reggie Bush’s medical condition – tall, dark, handsome, rich, and single – frolicking among Miami’s women waters was just what the doctor ordered.

“Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, life goes on” because during his first year with the Miami Dolphins, Reggie rushed for 1,086 yards. Awesome job, post-Kim Reggie.

And while that tiny piece of our reality tv heart we managed to salvage after Kim K and Reggie split still roots for their reunion, one failed marriage (Kim and Kris’s) and one pregnancy (Reggie and gf are expecting in 2013) later, we know that’ll never happen.

So just cheer for Reggie to win another Super Bowl instead.

KRIS HUMPHRIES

He’s 6’9″, 235 pounds. Usually, he’s the one grabbing the rebounds. But Kim K lost in love with Reggie Bush, then grabbed a rebound of her own, Brooklyn Nets power forward, Kris Humphries.

Kris was sitting comfortably in obscurity before Kimmie, but keeping up with a Kardashian kinda catapults you into instant fame.

Kris, though, was excelling at sports when he was a kid. At 10 years old, he was the top swimmer in six different events in his age group, and in the events where he wasn’t the top swimmer, he was second to Michael Phelps. Hats off to Humphries’ athletic pedigree.

As an NBA player, Kris changes teams like Kim changes guys clothes. He was drafted to the Utah Jazz in 2004 and played for the Toronto Raptors and the Dallas Mavericks before landing with Brooklyn Nets (formerly the New Jersey Nets) in 2010.

Kris

Kris doesn’t have an NBA Championship to his name, but the Nets do have the NBA’s second highest payroll (Lakers are first). So they’re certainly spending the bucks to get the talent to make a Finals run.

I mean, it’s not like he has a wedding ring anymore. So why not put a championship ring on that finger instead?
